Shooter Opens Fire At Florida Nightclub – Hits 18 People

Last month, the nation was stunned when 49 people were gunned down at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Now, the state has been rocked by yet another mass shooting at a nightclub, this time in the city of Fort Myers.

Daily Mail reported that at least 2 people were killed and 16 were wounded on Sunday night when a gunman opened fire in a parking lot outside Club Blu Bar and Grill shortly after 12:30am. The was hosting a teen night at the time of the shooting, so some of the victims were as young as 12 years-old.

Naples Daily News reported that the victims range in age from 12 to 27 years-old, and that four of them are in critical condition.

Syreeta Gary revealed in a Twitter video that her daughter survived the attack.

“Well, I just thank God that my daughter is okay. She could have been shot. She was dodging bullets and dropping between cars,” she said. “It is ridiculous that kids have to go through this and they cannot enjoy themselves because you have people with criminalistic minds who want to terrorize people.”

“I’m just glad that she’s okay,” the mother added. “She was running away from bullets so she wouldn’t get shot. Her friend got shot in the leg. They were running for safety.”

The gunman was arrested and is currently in police custody. His identity has not yet been revealed, and the identities of the victims have not been released at this tim either.
